Mudra bank to ‘fund the unfunded’ small entrepreneurs - A conceptual framework

Abstract
Micro-Finance has become the famous word all over the World to improve the access of credit to Rural and poor people. Micro Units Development Refinance Agency (MUDRA) is a development finance agency that will promote and finance those micro industrial units in the country which could not be reached out to by SIDBI and all other formal financial institutions. Mudra Bank is being set up through a statutory enactment and will be responsible for developing and refinancing through a Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana. Since small entrepreneurs are businesses are often cut off from banking system because of limited branch presence, Mudra Bank will partner with local coordinators and provide finance to "Last Mile Financiers" of small/micro businesses.
