Heritage conservation and sustainable tourism development: Pathways to inclusive growth in Kolhapur district Maharashtra

Abstract
Through employment, income generation, and
cultural preservation, tourism advances regional development. Known for its
historical significance, religious importance, and natural beauty, the Kolhapur
district attracts both domestic and international visitors. Kolhapur, however,
has not experienced notable expansion compared to other major travel
destinations in Maharashtra. There are many challenges faced by tourism in
Kolhapur. It aims to bridge the research gap by providing a comprehensive
assessment of Kolhapur's current tourism situation, and recommending
sustainable marketing strategies. By focusing on Kolhapur, the study aims to
draw attention to an area with potential and offer ideas that could support a
more inclusive and environmentally friendly tourism. Tourist satisfaction model
is developed. Suitable suggestions are given to develop sustainable tourism in
Kolhapur. Tourist are contacted at different destinations in Kolhapur district.
